A brief of history
Naples
The Neapolitan city has been chosen and loved for centuries; in fact, Greeks, refined aristocrats and Roman emperors built sumptuous villas throughout the Gulf area.
Naples, is full of countless treasures to visit: the historic center, world heritage protected by UNESCO; the Duomo, palaces, churches, catacombs and underground routes, the Archaeological Museum, Castel Nuovo and Palazzo Reale; do not miss the amazing promenade, from Castel dell’Ovo to Posillipo.
Also deserve a visit are the Royal Palace of Capodimonte and the Certosa di San Martino, custodians of museum collections among the most important in the world.
Naples also offers important centers of modern art, in fact, we suggest the exploration of new places of contemporary art: such as the PAN, Palazzo delle Arti Napoli, the MADRE, Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Donnaregina.
Discover the heart of Napoli
The Neapolitan city, despite the difficulties and contradictions common to all metropolises, an experience, to live, admire, taste: the art that has strongly marked its history; for the mild climate, which accompanies day and night shows, theater festivals, exhibitions, religious events; for food. You have to taste everything, from the flavors of the sea to unique ‘typical’ products (buffalo mozzarella, pizza, DOCG wines, and many desserts). We believe that the historical center “Greco-Roman” of Naples, is a concentration of life, colors and passions, representing the true soul of the city. A microcosm that embodies the Neapolitan essence. This place must be visited and experienced. With our tour you will be free to walk among, a checkerboard plan divided by three roads, the “decumani”, cut at right angles by streets called “hinges”.
You will be enchanted among the alleys, the artisan shops, the artistic wonders that surprise in the most unexpected corners, without forgetting the historical pizzerias.
Caserta Royal Palace
It is located in a very fertile area of Campania, rich in places with great historical and cultural interest.
In fact, it houses one of the most famous and visited monuments of the Region: the beautiful Royal Palace of Caserta.
Not to mention other places that deserve a visit such as the historical and archaeological remains of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Capua, Sessa Aurunca, concentrated in the Caserta area.
In 1751, it was King Charles of Bourbon who commissioned the architect Luigi Vanvitelli to design a palace that could compete with the great residences of the European sovereigns, in particular with Versailles.
The Royal Palace and gardens
The Royal Palace of Caserta includes four courtyards and thousands of rooms, chapels, museums, theatres. In the Park of 120 hectares, there are avenues, fountains, the Great Waterfall and numerous buildings. The building has 1200 rooms, 34 stairs and 1742 windows.
Beautiful are the Palatine Chapel, the Royal Apartments, lavishly decorated with marble and paintings, furnished with period furniture, the Palatine Library and the Royal Crib.
The Pinacoteca of the Reggia di Caserta is divided into several sectors. The Quadreria houses portraits of the kings and queens of the Bourbon family, both of Italy and of France. Of enormous importance, the Park of the Reggia. Wonderful is the central avenue (about 3 kilometers), embellished by fountains, meadows and flowerbeds. The water sequence ends with the Great Waterfall, called the Fountain of Diana.
In the Park, there is also an English Garden, wanted by Maria Carolina of Austria. It is rich in exotic and rare plants, embellished with greenhouses, groves and avenues. Do not miss the pond, with the evocative statue of the “Bagno di Venere”.
