Pompeii
Pompeii is the most suggestive and famous archaeological site in the world. The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. buried the city under a layer of ash and lapilli almost 10 meters thick. Most of the inhabitants escaped from their homes and died on the coast. The few who remained, tried to save themselves in the underground of the houses, died asphyxiated. Indeed, the casts of their bodies are a sad testimony to the tragedy. Walking through the Pompeian excavations is a unique experience. It is like taking a journey through time: you can breathe the atmosphere of life in antiquity. One of the most important buildings of Pompeii is the Villa dei Misteri, famous especially for its paintings. Particularly exciting is the visit to the Via dei Sepolcri, the road lined with funeral monuments that led to Herculaneum. Visiting Pompeii, you will see this and many other exciting finds.
Herculaneum
Herculaneum, unlike Pompeii, is a less extensive archaeological site. Normally a visit to Herculaneum takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. During this time, you will be fascinated by this ancient city sleeping at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. The dormant but active volcano, which thousands of years ago with its eruptive power destroyed many cities of the Neapolitan area, including Herculaneum. We highly recommend this stop. If you travel through this area of Campania, or are booking a transfer from Napoli to Sorrento or the Coast, you should add a stopover in Herculaneum. You can have a 2-hour stop and get to know this archaeological site with mystery and relics, houses, and churches preserved in an excellent way.
Royal Palace of Caserta
Are you booking a transfer from Rome to Napoli or from Rome to Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast(or vice-versa)? We suggest you visit the Royal Palace of Caserta, which is on the road you will take. By reserving our Combo Service, you can enjoy a combined transfer with a 2-hour stop at the beautiful Reggia di Caserta. This sumptuous royal residence designed by architect Vanvitelli, is located on the route between Rome and Napoli, so it would be a great shame not to take advantage of your transfer to visit it. In 2 hours, you can admire the residence of the royal family of the Bourbons, walking among its immense rooms and corridors, looking out from its high windows that offer a view of the superb gardens that surround it. Do not miss the opportunity to see this architectonic jewel.
